Home is where the heart is, but what if your heart doesn’t know where it should be?

From low crime rates to a great education system, there are many variables to consider when choosing that perfect place that you and your family can call home.
How to Choose a Place to Live
Begin by determining what is most important to you and your family. If you’re single, living in a condo in Municipal (Garki, Wuse, Life Camp, Gwarimpa, Apo etc) might be an ideal choice for your next home. If you have a family, on the other hand, a good estate offers amenities that your kids will love.
Here are some of the tips that will help you most when you are choosing a place to live in Abuja.
Cost of Living and Affordability
Whether you are looking to rent or buy your home, most important factor to consider when choosing a place to live is the cost of living. The cost of living varies greatly all over the Abuja Area Council— from the cost to rent or buy your home, taxes, insurance, transportation, gas, utilities, groceries, etc. All of these expenses need to be factored into the decision you make about whether or not you can afford to live in the new location, particularly in light of any changes in salary and employment you may have to make in your new location.
 Real Estate Value
If buying a property (home) is the single investment you will probably ever make, you need to seriously consider this factor. With real estate in a constant state of flux in Abuja, it’s important to research current home prices, the length of time homes are for sale, the resale values of homes, and probable long-term value estimates.
“..don’t worry, we’ll get this done for you”
Crime Rates and Statistics
No one wants to live in a high-crime area, but that doesn’t mean that everyone can live in  Utopian locations like Maitama, Asokoro, and many other eye brown area. Yet, there are many good and safe estates like Godab Estate in Life Camp, Efab and Brains&Hammers homes in and within the city and their likes at various location in Abuja where crime never happens or very low
Traffic & Ease of Transportation
Transportation in and around your new home is another important factor to consider. This can be from your day-to-day commute around to run errands and get to work to also having visitors and getting away, like having access to an airport. Some area have very sophisticated and streamlined public transportation (Uber, Taxify El-Rufai Bus etc) that may not require the need for your own vehicle, while other location may require a personal vehicle to get around with the greatest level of convenience and efficiency. These will certainly need to be factors worth considering when choosing a new place to live. In particular, your daily commute to work will definitely be something worth considering.
School & Education System
Depending on whether you have (or are planning to have) children or not, the school and education system where you are located will also be an important factor when choosing a new home. Like evaluating the commute to work, you will also want to make sure that the schools for your children are in close proximity to where you live and work.
As the pace of development and growth in Abuja accelerate, where would “You” choose to live in Abuja if you have an opportunity to chose?
